Single tier cakes are available in various sizes to accommodate your guest count. The table below gives information for round cakes in our standard height - four layers of sponge, six inches tall - based on a 1"x1"x6" portion size, called a wedding portion. A wedding portion is about the same amount of cake as one cupcake and is how wedding cakes are typically sliced for buffet-style service during an evening reception. Of course, alternative shapes and other portion sizes are available.

For couples who only require a single tier cake to feed all their guests but prefer the aesthetics of a multi-tier cake, we can use dummy tiers - polystyrene blocks in the shape of a cake tier, which are decorated to match the edible cake tiers - to achieve the desired look.
